Mr. Jones, a shareholder and member since 1995, practices in the areas of estate and tax planning, including wills, trusts, estate and trust administration, taxation, business planning and church law.
He received a B.A. with distinction in U.S. Government in 1979 from the University of Virginia and a J.D. degree in 1982 from the University of Virginia School of Law. In 1993 he received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law.
He is a member of the Virginia State Bar (Sections on: Trusts and Estates and Taxation), the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association and the Central Virginia Estate Planning Council.
Mr. Jones and his family are active members in their local church. He also is a long-term member of the Board of Directors of the Good Samaritan Ministries, Ltd., a homeless shelter in Richmond, Virginia, which provides shelter, food, job training and job placement for the homeless, low-cost homes for low-income families and a private school where troubled and failed youth find the will to excel in academics again.
Mr. Jones regularly lectures and presents seminars for the general public and for private companies on estate and business planning and tax issues. Some of the most recent topics include:
