Mr. Johnson, an attorney since 1984 and a certified public accountant since 1990, concentrates his practice in the areas of corporation, limited liability company, partnership and general business law, estate planning and administration, tax law, bankruptcies and foreclosures representing creditors, and complex Internal Revenue Code Section 1031 (like-kind) exchanges and other sophisticated real estate oriented tax planning.

He attended James Madison University, graduating magna cum laude in 1981 with a B.B.A. degree. He subsequently received a J.D. degree from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1984. He served as the managing editor of the University of Richmond Law Review.

He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Bar Association, Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association, Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (former member of board of directors), Thomas Jefferson Chapter of Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (former member of board of directors and past president), and Central Virginia Estate Planning Council (past president).

Mr. Johnson has lectured frequently on business law and estate planning topics corporate and tax law matters on behalf of the Charlottesville Economic Development Office, Service Corps of Retired Executives, State Farm Insurance, Scott & Stringfellow, Merrill Lynch, and Small Business Development Center as well as the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association and Thomas Jefferson Chapter of Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
